KINDER COOKING CLUBS

The next generation community food movement

Kinder cooking clubs are an easy and fun way for young people to learn sustainable and healthy eating habits, and to creatively cook fresh, healthy and delicious meals from scratch.

We provide facilitator training to schools and education providers, to enable them to run as many of our Kinder Kitchen Clubs as they have time and resources to offer. We provide ongoing mentoring, CPD days and an inspirational community network.

6 Week Foundation Course

During our 6-week cooking clubs, young people learn sustainable and healthy eating habits, and creatively cook fresh and delicious meals from scratch. By the end of the course they will have learned key kitchen skills such has knife handling and food hygiene and will be able to cook a meal independently.

Alongside the cooking they will have a weekly theme to explore. This will help students to understand how they are an intrinsic part of the interconnected web of life and how this is important to consider when deciding what food to eat. They will come to understand that healthy, nutritious food is usually farmed in a regenerative, organic way and is therefore better for your health and planet. Each week has a “kinder” topic which links to a “kitchen” theme and the recipes for that week. The themes include:

  • healthy soil

  • local food

  • seasonal food

  • the gut and microbiome

  • ethical business practices

  • how to organise and run a community food feast.

Please get in touch if you are a school or community project and would like to run Kinder Kitchen Foundation courses.
