FACILITATOR TRAINING

Free training for schools and communities.

Our training prepares facilitators to be able to run our 6-week Kinder Kitchen Foundation Course for young people aged 11 to 16 within a secondary school setting or any other community setting which has a learning kitchen environment. You will learn how to deliver KINDER (sustainable living) and KITCHEN (cooking) skills in a creative and impactful way. The training is free of charge and includes free mentoring and community support.


How it works

We provide free training to schools and community settings, so you can run as many Kinder Kitchen clubs as time and resources allow.

We provide:

  • 2.5 days free training (see content below).

  • 70 page creative and fun learners manual for facilitators and students.

  • Free mentoring.

  • Free yearly CPD training sessions.

  • Online community exchange and support.

What you need:

  • One or two passionate and qualified members of staff (get in touch for pre-requisites) who would like to become a Kinder Kitchen Facilitator. If you are self- employed, please do get in touch we are happy to support individuals to set up Kinder Kitchen projects too.

  • Give your staff time, we pay for the training but not for their time or travel costs.

  • A learning kitchen (if you don’t have one we might be able to help you with equipment costs, please get in touch).

  • Food to cook (we provide simple and affordable recipes but do not pay for the food during the clubs, for a cost breakdown of ingredients please get in touch).


Facilitator training content

  • How to deliver Kinder Kitchen’s mission and core values within joyful and creative cooking experiences.

  • How to prepare classes, including lesson plans, timing, manual, confidentiality agreements, parental consent forms, allergy/ food intolerances, shopping lists, first aid.

  • How to use open and inspiring communication styles/ language that inspire engaged learning, creative thinking, and a sense of ownership.

  • How to set a creative and inspiring learning/ cooking environment.

  • How to ensure Health and safety in a kinder kitchen.

  • An in-depth knowledge of each of our session topics and how to deliver them.

  • How to be part of an active and engaged facilitator learning community where we exchange experiences, learning materials and recipes.
